Everyone thinks of chicken when they are trying to eat healthy or lose weight. It does not have to be a boring piece of plain, broiled, skinless chicken breast.

Even “fried chicken” can be good for you, if you do it right!

If you’ve never tried ground chicken or turkey in place of ground beef, it’s time you did. However, be very careful when buying it. Don’t be fooled by just the word “lean” or the claim that it has x% less fat than regular ground beef. Look for “extra lean” and/or 99% fat free on the label, and turn the package over and READ the nutrition label. There should be no more than .5 to 1 gram of saturated fat.
