It's not real quick and it's not real easy, but it is REAL...And it Really Works!

What is "Do It The Hard Way"?

Do you like feeling good? Do you like the idea of looking good in a bathing suit? Do you enjoy eating tasty home-cooked meals packed with nutrition? Well if you do, Do It the Hard Way is for you.

Unlike fad diets, gimmicky weight loss plans, or expensive gym memberships, Do It the Hard Way is a lifestyle concept that is simply based on good old-fashioned hard work.

There are two key elements to this plan: Healthy Eating and Regular Exercise.

Mastering the Art Of Healthy Cooking

To develop and maintain a healthy diet, one that you can stick to and enjoy for the rest of your life, you will need to learn the following concepts:

It's All about the Ingredients - To cook meals in your own home that are high in nutrition and low in bad fats and added sugars or salt, you need to understand some nutrition basics and how to read food labels. You'll also need to learn how to decipher the lies put forth by ‘the agribusiness’ and ‘big food’. Do It the Hard Way will teach you how.

Food Selection and Preparation - We will explore everything from picking out the best produce and meats to some practical do's and don'ts about food preparation in the kitchen.

Food Substitutions - One of my favorite things to do is substituting ‘bad ingredients’ with ‘good ingredients’ to make my favorite meals. With this approach, you can still eat all of your favorites - everything from pizza to fried chicken, macaroni and cheese to tiramisu.

Making Cooking Fun - Cooking doesn't have to be a burden, in fact it can be quite fun. One of the best ways to do this is to cook with a partner, or even better, make it a family event. We'll go way beyond the basics of how to cook these meals, I'll teach you how to make it a high point of your day!

Exercise - The Other Half of the Equation

Your body is like a car, it has thousands of moving parts, moving parts that gradually wear out over the life of the vehicle. As your car gets up there and miles things start to go wrong on a regular basis, causing the need to replace parts as they break. Fortunately, your body has one advantage over a car. As your body parts start to wear out, you can rebuild them simply by exercising. That's right, your body actually get stronger with exercise!

Enter P90X® and all of the other Beachbody workouts.

My husband and I began doing P90X® in the summer of 2009 and instantly fell in love with the workouts. The workouts are extreme, but yield extreme results. The results we have seen are so significant that we have incorporated daily Beachbody workouts into our lifestyle and are genuinely excited to be a part of this growing community.
You do need a minimum level of fitness to begin the series, and I urge you to take the P90X® fit tests if you are considering doing so. If you're not ready for this particular workout, there are many other workouts that Beach Body offers for virtually every level of fitness.

An Investment of Time

Time is the crucial element to accomplish all of this. It takes time to learn about nutrition, to shop for food, to cook food, to exercise - but the payoff is a better life. And you'll get some of that time back on the other end. You'll feel more energized and positive as this spills over into every element of your life. You'll sleep better, you'll be happier, you'll be healthier, and you’ll make fewer trips to the doctor's office.
This is what Do It the Hard Way is all about.
